Julie's Breast Cancer
Fight
As most of you know, I was diagnosed with stage III
breast cancer in January. I had a radical mastectomy with 25 of my
lymph nodes removed. I am over half way done with the hardest part
of chemo. I just started Taxol. Next week I start a new drug
by IV called Herceptin. I will have it every week now for 8 weeks,
and then every 3 weeks for a year by IV. I am scheduled for the
start of reconstruction in July. It will also be a long process.
My doctor recommended an implant. After the implant is
complete I will have radiation for 6 weeks every day. I am still
doing okay considering all that I have been through. My spirits
are high and I am looking forward to the next stage of this nightmare
because it means I'm that much closer to the end. If you are
interested in keeping up with my breast cancer fight, I try to keep my
blog up to date.

Great gift idea for the cross stitcher in your
life. GIFT CERTIFICATES from Julie's X Stitch. If you
don't know what she would like, let her decide for herself with a gift
certificate.
Cross
Stitch Tip
Cuts of fabric. There are different cuts
of fabric. Among these are fat quarters, fat halves, and full yards.
If you were to take a yard of fabric and lay it out flat and cut it into
4 equal parts vertically and horizontally, one of the four pieces would
be considered a fat quarter. A fat quarter is usually large enough
for most projects. A fat half is that same fabric cut
horizontally right down the middle to make two halves. Many of the
Lavender and Lace patterns require a fat half because they are so large.
Of course, a full yard is the whole piece of fabric.
